WHO WE ARE...

The OASIS Foundation aims to be a beacon of hope and support in an era of self interest. Established with the mission of alleviate poverty by supporting the growing population, provide essential healthcare services, and foster educational opportunities, the foundation has made a significant impact in many lives for decades through it’s directors, long before it was formally established. Through it’s 3 main pillarscharity, medical outreach, and scholarships– OASIS Foundation is committed to building a better and more equitable world.

OUR INSPIRATION

The OASIS Foundation was formally established in 2024, in loving memory of late Mrs Oluwatohungbogbo Toluwalope Akinbo, (1977-2024). She was the spouse and partner of her husband, and both of them, for over two decades, have self funded and operated their charity initiatives and benefited a number of people over the years. Oluwatohungbogbo was a triple qualified registered, midwife, and ophthalmic nurse.

Toluwalope’s carrier spanned from 2006 to 2024 at the Lagos State Ministry of Health, where she dedicated her life to serving others with unmatched empathy, professionalism, and a joyful spirit. She was an Assistant Director of Nursing Services till her passing away.

Oluwatohungbogbo, affectionately known as Tohun, was not only a skilled healthcare professional but also a beacon of positivity and compassion. Her dedication to patient care and her ability to uplift those around her left an indelible mark on her colleagues and patients alike. Her energy and passion for her humanity were evident in every aspect of her work and life.

In April 24, 2024, after a courageous year-long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), Tohun passed away. Her passing left a void in the hearts of all those who knew her, but her legacy of compassion and dedication lives on through the OASIS Foundation.

The foundation was formally registered in her name as Oluwatohungbogbo Akinbo Support Initiative and Scholarship (OASIS) Foundation, in her memory to immortalize her and carry on in a more expanded way the passion of service and uplifting others in this life that the couple (Mr and Mrs Akinbo) have sustained for over 25 years through their self sacrifice and generosity,  mainly as educational support scholarship, medical expenses intervention and other charity work to anyone in the society but mostly to  those in their church family and sphere of influence.

The aim was to continue their passion of making a positive impact in the life of those less privileged and often disadvantaged by financial constraints, and to outlive them keep Tohun’s memory alive. Support for total strangers across the country have been done, though mainly to those within their religious groups.

In it’s formal registration and branding, If focuses on three main pillars: charity, medical outreach, and scholarships, reflecting Tohun’s lifelong commitment to helping others.

Through these initiatives, the OASIS Foundation aims to honor Tohun’s memory by providing essential support to underserved communities, offering medical care to those in need, and empowering young individuals through education.

Tohun’s spirit of generosity, her unwavering dedication to her profession, and her profound empathy for humanity remsin the driving forces behind the OASIS Foundation. Her legacy continues to inspire and uplift, ensuring that her passion for helping others endures.

Start now

At the heart of the OASIS Foundation lies a calling—one rooted in faith, love, and service. This foundation was birthed from the life and legacy of my beloved wife, Oluwatohungbogbo Tolulope Akinbo, whose unwavering compassion, humility, and devotion to others continue to inspire our mission.

Together, she and I believed that our lives are most meaningful when we live beyond ourselves—thinking not only of our own interests, but also of the needs of others, as taught in Philippians 2:4 and Galatians 6:10.

OASIS is more than a charity; it is a ministry of hope, built on the principle of doing good to all, especially those of the household of faith.

Our work is a reflection of this shared conviction. Through initiatives in health, education, mentorship, and community upliftment, we strive to meet people at their point of need—with compassion, dignity, and love. We believe in empowering lives, not just offering temporary help, and in inspiring others to become agents of change in their own right. Each outreach, each scholarship, each word of encouragement is done as unto the Lord, with the intention of leaving an eternal impact.

As the Managing Director of OASIS Foundation, I remain committed to carrying this vision forward. It is a journey of purpose—fueled by faith, strengthened by community, and dedicated to glorifying God through service. I invite you to walk alongside us: to give, to serve, and to help us touch more lives, as we believed we were divinely led to do. Together, we can be a light in dark places, a refuge for the weary, and a fountain of hope to generations.

“Take advantage of every opportunity to be a blessing to others, especially to our brothers and sisters in the family of faith!” — Galatians 6:10 (TPT)
